I’ve been building companies for the last 7 years and have lived, breathed and bled startups. Approximately half of that time was spent building one of the world’s finest mobility technology brands. And most of that time went into bringing some of the craziest individuals from across the world under one roof to create arguably, one of the best b2b marketing teams out there. In spite of the world having undergone a dramatic shift recently, I am extremely confident in their ability of continuing to push the marketing status quo moving forward.
The last couple of months of transition have served almost as a recap of the time spent towards doing some of the best work of my life. What came as an amazing realisation alongside, was that all of it was inspired by the commitment and hustle shown by people around me. As this chapter comes to a close, almost all of my gratitude is focused towards this set of incredible individuals.
I joined Wunder Mobility almost three and a half years back, inspired by Gunnar's vision, of decongesting the world’s most gridlocked cities. Having lived most of my life in cities like Delhi and Bangalore, I was forged in congested roads and polluted streets. An opportunity to be able to be a part of something that could act as a solution to these problems organically attracted me from halfway across the world to Hamburg in Germany. Over the last four years, as the vision evolved into accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility, so did I. This evolution was driven by some of the trickiest challenges that came in front of me and the people that joined me in creating solutions.
As a marketing guy, there are very few situations that come to my mind where I’ve fallen short of words. One of those moments was my final goodbye to these folks. Time is measured in light years at startups and coagulating my memories into one paragraph seemed like the most daunting task that I’ve ever faced in my life. The alphabet isn’t enough for me to express how much you’ve meant to me and how much I owe you for standing by me in this roller coaster of a ride.

These memories were built around moments. Moments big and small that I experienced with all of you over my time there: from millions of 1:1s, reflections, team meetings to campaign launches and brainstorming sessions; from slack messages sent to just check whether I was doing well, to sticky notes that asked me to keep smiling through stressful launches and blatantly brutal reactions to my (sometimes inappropriate) that’s what she said jokes; and they’ve culminated into some of our craziest achievements together, such as the Wunder Mobility Summit 2019, the #WeAllMove launch in the middle of this pandemic and six different product launches that we went through.
It became extremely clear to me over the last couple of weeks in my tenure as VP Marketing, that even though I was just trying to do my job all this time, something bigger was at play. Something that would go on to define me as a person and everything that I will go on to do in my career moving forward. You taught me that when we choose to believe in something bigger than ourselves, we can go on to achieve anything we want. And this feeling, even though it humbled me to my core, also prepared me for my next play.
I have no idea whether these words did the trick when it comes to describing my tenure. But I did realise that we didn’t just create #BecauseWeShare as the brand statement for Wunder Mobility, we lived it.
To everybody who made this journey happen, thank you.
Signing off.
